Build the Story Where the Work Lives: Introducing Slides in Pivot

Presentations rarely begin in presentation software. The outline starts in a Page. Supporting material lives in project notes, files, and conversations. Feedback arrives in a Room. Then, when it's time to share the story, the work gets copied into a separate deck and its context starts to scatter.

With the new Slides block, the presentation can stay with the work that shaped it. Add a deck to a Pivot Page, create each slide on its own collaborative canvas, organize the narrative from a thumbnail rail, and present it without moving the project into another tool.

From a Slides block, you can:

• Add, select, reorder, and remove slides from one workspace.

• Build on a fixed 16:9 canvas with text, shapes, images, and Pivot content.

• Follow the full sequence through live slide thumbnails.

• Open a distraction-free presentation view and move through the deck with onscreen or keyboard controls.

• Return to the same deck after the meeting and keep it current.

Start the Deck Where the Work Is Already Happening

The outline for a presentation often exists before the first slide does. It may be a project brief, a course module, research notes, or a plan your team has been shaping together.

Add a Slides block from a Page and the deck becomes part of that shared context. You don't need to create a separate file, move the source material, or send people to another workspace just to start building.

The Slides block opens in a dedicated editor while the Page and space around it remain the home for the broader work. Moving from planning to presenting gets easier when the decisions, files, and conversations that led there are still close by.

Shape the Story One Slide at a Time

A strong deck is more than a collection of pages. Order matters, and you should be able to see the whole narrative while you work.

The slide rail keeps every slide visible as a live thumbnail. Add a new slide, select the part you want to refine, move slides up or down into a better sequence, or remove what no longer belongs. The fixed 16:9 stage gives each slide a consistent frame from the beginning.

You can move between the details and the full sequence without opening and closing separate views. The story stays visible while you shape it.

Build With the Flexibility of a Canvas

Each slide is a collaborative canvas, so you aren't limited to a rigid document layout. Add and position text, images, shapes, and connected Pivot content where the story needs them.

Use the toolbar to arrange the slide, adjust styles, and combine different kinds of content. Because each slide has its own canvas, you can keep one idea focused while still making diagrams, visual summaries, or structured layouts.

Present Without Leaving the Workspace

When the deck is ready, select Present to move from editing into a clean, focused view. The fixed stage keeps the slide centered, while onscreen controls let you move forward, go back, or return to the editor.

Keyboard controls keep your attention on the audience. Advance with the right arrow, Page Down, or Space; go back with the left arrow or Page Up. Home and End jump to the first and last slide, and Escape closes the presentation.

Keep the Deck Useful After the Meeting

A presentation is often one moment in a longer project. The plan changes, the research grows, and the team needs a version that can keep moving with the work.

Because the Slides block stays in Pivot, you can return to the same deck, update the content, and keep it near the Pages and conversations it supports. There's no separate workspace to grow stale after the meeting.

A deck can remain a working part of the project instead of becoming an artifact shown once and forgotten.
