Delete Your Pivot Account

How to delete your Pivot Workspace account and associated personal data, including the steps to request deletion from inside the app or by email, who can delete an account, what data is deleted, what is retained, and for how long.

This page explains how to request deletion of your Pivot Workspace account and the personal data associated with it. Pivot Workspace is the mobile app published by Pivot Technologies Holdings Inc. ("Pivot").

You can delete your account yourself from inside the app. If your account is managed by your organization, or you can no longer sign in, use the email request route described below.

Delete your account from inside the app

Open Pivot Workspace and sign in.
Go to Settings.
Open Advanced.
Tap Delete account.
Pivot checks whether your account is eligible for self-deletion. If it is, tick I understand that deleting my account is permanent and cannot be undone.
Tap Delete.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone by you. You are signed out immediately and returned to the login screen.

The same steps apply on the Pivot web and desktop apps.

If the Delete option is unavailable

Pivot confirms eligibility before enabling Delete. There are three cases where you cannot delete the account yourself:

Your account uses a verified organization email. The account is managed by your organization, so your organization controls its deletion. Ask an organization admin to delete or remove your account from Organization settings → Users.
You are the only super admin in your organization. Deleting the account would leave the organization without an administrator. Promote another member to super admin in Organization settings, then delete your account.
Eligibility could not be confirmed. If Pivot cannot reach the server to check eligibility, Delete stays disabled. Check your connection and tap Try again.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot sign in, or your account is managed by your organization and you need help, email legal@pivot.app from the address associated with your account and ask for your account to be deleted.

Include your organization name and the email address on the account. Pivot verifies the identity and authorization of the requester before acting, and responds without undue delay and within applicable legal timeframes.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, Pivot deletes or removes:

Your account and sign-in credentials, including your email addresses and linked single sign-on identities.
Your profile information — name, username, profile photo, pronouns, location, and biography.
Your memberships — you are removed from every space, every group, and every group room you belong to.
Your analytics identity, which is reset on the device at deletion.

Personal data is removed from Pivot's active production systems within 30 days of deletion, and expires from encrypted disaster-recovery backups within 90 days after that.

What is retained, and why

Some data is not deleted with your account:

Content you contributed to shared spaces and rooms. Messages, posts, comments, files, and documents you created in an organization's spaces and rooms belong to that organization's workspace and remain available to its members after your account is deleted. Ask an organization admin if you need specific content removed.
Direct message conversations. One-to-one conversations are retained so that the other participant keeps their own copy of the conversation.
Security and audit logs, retained for 12 to 24 months for security and operational purposes.
Records Pivot must keep by law, such as billing and tax records, or records retained to detect abuse or to protect Pivot's legal rights. Access to these is restricted.
Data under a legal hold. If your organization has instructed Pivot to preserve specific data for legal reasons, deletion of that data is suspended until the hold is released.
