At Pivot, our mission is about more than just facilitating communication and collaboration. We aim to redefine how individuals and teams interact, ideate, and innovate by reshaping the digital landscape for collaborative work. There are two foundational principles that guide our philosophy in designing collaboration software: minimizing context switching and providing both general purpose and purpose-built tools.

Unifying Meridian's Digital Spaces

Meridian University embraced the promise of Pivot, the open-source collaboration layer for the internet, and it has dramatically changed the way their community interacts. The adoption of Pivot replaced Meridian's former Learning Management System (LMS) and became the primary platform for courses, facilitating collaboration between staff, faculty, and students.

In this new ecosystem, courses are created using Pivot's infinitely customizable spaces, while the versatile block types facilitate everything from databases and goals to events and flexible canvases. Staff and faculty now use Pivot not only for teaching and learning but also for collaborating, project management, and documentation.

A New World for Handbooks and Guides

In a bid to foster more streamlined and dynamic access to essential resources, all of Meridian's handbooks and guides for students, faculty, and staff are now housed on Pivot. The accessibility and flexibility provided by Pivot ensure that these important materials are always up-to-date and easily accessible to the entire Meridian community.

Transforming the Student Experience

For students, Pivot has proved to be more than just a course platform. It has become a space for networking and group work. Using Pivot's rooms and spaces, students can chat, post, and collaborate in real time or asynchronously, fostering a sense of connection and collaboration that mirrors the university’s transformative ethos. The option of membership tiers within these spaces also allows for tailored learning and collaboration experiences.
